Summer Bohemian Inspiration // Glen Echo Park

Woodsy Bohemian Wedding Inspiration at Glen Echo

featured on Marryland Weddings

Summer will be here before we know it, and it’s got us swooning over this intimate wedding styled shoot at Glen Echo Park just outside of Washington DC. Nothing says boho like a gorgeous woodland setting, some soft drapery, and organic floral details! Pretty pops of orange and teal were pretty compliments to the lush green and woodsy surroundings. This is the perfect inspiration for the nature-loving couple wanting to plan a small summer ceremony.

From the planner:

Historic Glen Echo Park is a hidden gem, yet only minutes away from Bethesda, Maryland and gloriously surrounded by lush trees. While Glen Echo’s acclaim is mostly due to its iconic historic features, such as its original Dentzel carousel and Spanish ballroom, we were drawn to the more hidden, yet dramatic features that nature has to offer.

Our inspiration for the shoot is a subtle sense of exploration, curiosity, and adventure woven into the wedding day experience. Glen Echo offers many excuses to explore: a quiet pathway down to the glassblowing shop, artisanal yurts, and the crowning jewel: a glorious creek running through the park.

For the color palette, we wanted to be inspired by nature at the peak of summer: the pops of oranges, corals, and reds, framed by the richly green foliage. Ava Laurenne Bride’s creamy ivory dress stole the show, with its elegant beading on the bodice and a luxuriously soft fabric. It provided the perfect note of couture yet free-spirited drama. The bride wore a softly woven braid, and her dark eyes accented by a flawless natural look.

Our tablescape, set among the yurts, featured plates hand-fashioned by a local artisan and truly one of a kind. The macrame runner lends a soft Bohemian feel. Designed by Write Liz Write, the invitation suite with watercolor detailing and hand torn edges perfectly complemented the table setting. And finally, we have to mention the floral details, designed by Tierra Events, with all the glorious colors that summer has to offer. The bridal bouquet was stunning: with trailing amaranthus in the fashionable hoop style.
