In the Rear View Mirror: 2018
2018 allowed us the opportunity to serve some amazing couples, explore new venues, launch our journal and more.
practically fun favors
Favors can be a great way to showcase your personality as a couple. I especially love when they’re practical or consumable! This year’s included…
{custom koozies, macarons in adorable treat boxes, and dainty jars of honey [meant to bee!] that perfectly matched their whimsical vibe.}
have your cake and eat it too
More and more couples are opting for a smaller wedding cake but also offering a dessert that holds a special place in their hearts, such as a…
{Bananas foster bar and donut display}
thanks for the memories
This year couples got really creative with this aspect of wedding planning. This year saw …
{polaroid cameras making a comeback, a group photo of all guests on the dancefloor before open dancing (yes!) and everyone’s doing the #weddinghashtag.}
floral trends
Many brides fell in love with eucalyptus in 2018, and I totally understand why. I’m all about greenery being the star of the show. I was surprised to discover how much I love the cascading bouquet… and I’ll tell you why. Most brides like to display their gorgeous bouquet at their table, but the beauty of the cascading bouquet? It lies flat on the table, no weighted vase needed.
Other Noteworthy Milestones:
The year started out strong. Glorious Weddings & Events was honored to be featured in an article by the Arlington Catholic Herald in their wedding issue! It may or may not be still on my refrigerator….
Mid-summer Styled Shoot: This fantastic styled shoot fulfilled for me a desire to support other women and cemented for me an internal core value of continually supporting other women-owned businesses. The flowers were stunning, the desserts elegant (and tasty), and the tablescape brought it all together.
I had the opportunity to collaborate with a non-profit, the LM Foundation, on their annual walk for domestic violence. I encourage you to check them out and support them in the great work they are doing for the community.
My first article was published in Verily Magazine! So much of my journey thus far growing into the entrepreneurial lifestyle has been learning to manage my own energy flow, and be a good boss to myself. The more I write, the more I learn about myself — especially when I write about productivity and self – management. The only question I have for you … are you a routine or flow kind of person?
The conclusion of a year and start of a new one is a great time to look back, celebrate, and reflect. This post is particularly momentous, because Glorious Weddings & Events celebrated its first birthday at at the end of January! I’d like to end with gratitude: I’m so thankful for the support and love from all of you. I’m grateful for all of the couples who included us in their wedding day, and grateful that we have a new year to learn and grow.
