A whimsical meets modern springtime elopement at historic Glen Echo Park, right outside Bethesda, Maryland. This Maryland wedding venue was the perfect backdrop for this art deco inspired elopement — before elopements became “the thing”. Planning and design by Alyssa Glorioso, of Glorious Weddings & Events. Glorious Weddings & Events specializes in DC area weddings and special occasions. We love designing and coordinating stylish and nature-inspired celebrations for couples.

A few of our favorite statements & moments from this shoot:
The elopement announcement sign, designed by Liz Powell of Write Liz Write. An ode to the Great Gatsby — and fits right in with the bride’s attire.
Spring Bouquet
This cascading bouquet! Designed by Bohemes Jubilee, The structure and shape created by the trailing Italian ruscus, the texture and pop of the mimosa flowers, and the delicacy and whimsicality of the anemones give it a definite modern flair.
Boutonniere Inspiration
The groom chose to wear suspenders, which he totally pulled off! We pinned his boutonniere there and the masculine nature of suspenders played well with the spring florals.
Modern two-tiered cake
Designed by Henry’s sweet retreat, right in Bethesda, the designer hand painted this abstract design in broad brush strokes with gold bead detail. And the cake (strawberry and champagne filling) was scrumptious too.
Attire
An elopement is THE time to pull off a knee length flapper inspired dress. This light gold crepe was playfully reminiscent of the 1920s and definitely stylish.
